There were so many wonderful options for this month. Undead, ghostly apparitions are almost as popular as lost love and broken hearts with poets and songwriters, though to me they are in the same group. Anyway, I’ve always believed music was the universal language, and possibly the portal to the other side.

Monster Mash, by Bobby Pickett and The Crypt Kickers.
No list of ghostly songs would be complete without Monster Mash.
Damn These Vampires by the Mountain Goats.
This band has some of the strangest songs I’ve ever heard. Lovely, odd and strange, everything you need.
The Devil’s Sidewalk by Graham Parker.
Back when I was younger, confused, disillusioned Graham Parker was an apogee, he was mad, eloquent and unafraid to sing about it.
Harvester of Eyes by Blue Oyster Cult.
I’m not too sure what this song is about. It sounds creepy as hell, though. And it has a good beat.
Fire by the Crazy World of Arthur Brown.
I might have used this one already. If so, I’m sorry, but this song is so weird, whenever I need a reminder of what art can be I listen to this and I can see again.
