Brand New Key, by Melanie.
I know this is a stretch, but this list was kind of morbid. It was such a good day, soured by the government, or course. Plus, I’m running out of time. Besides, this song is all about overcoming, it is a gentler, kinder Get Up Stand Up. I just feel better every time I hear it.

I’ll have to give these a listen. The only one I remember as a kid was Brand New Key.
