POETRY

o       small god

with your halo

of bees

I would trade

the sweetness

of every last

desire

if only

you would

rule with a

tenderness

the comb

of your fist

unfurling

a single

white

wick

soften

o       small god

the blue flame

that burns

but does not

         heal

o        kleiner Gott

mit deinem Heiligenschein

aus Bienen

ich würde die Süße

von jedem letzten verlangen

eintauschen

wenn du

nur mit Zärtlich

-keit

regieren

würdest

entfaltet

die Honigwabe

deiner Faust

ein einzelner

weißer

Docht

erweich

o           kleiner Gott

die blaue Flamme

die brennt

aber die nicht

                heilt

I liked it Matt especially up to rule with a tenderness. The rest some extension fog. Will look again. Aunt Beth

The image of a small god of gentle light, inhabiting a candle made of beeswax, opens a series of metaphors and images that forms the basis of a petition, a prayer that the god we worship in the dark might bring a softer flame that would not damage but might heal. Thank you!
