How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live by The Del Lords
Probably not about friends, but, I man, do I love this song.
Advice to a Friend by Doug and the Slugs
I started listening to this band because of the name, Doug and the Slugs, they must be good, right? But I think they are good, and this song is perfect for this month’s theme.
Better Class of Loser by Randy Travis
As much as I love this song and its son-of-the-proletariat feel, I do, on occasion, grind my own coffee and my wife pays all our bills online. We still like three-dollar wine, though.
You’re My Best Friend by Jefferson Airplane
Surrealistic Pillow is one of my favorite albums, and Jefferson Airplane is one of my favorite bands, and this song is about being a best friend. It’s almost perfect.
Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell
I’m not sure how this song fits in, but I’m sure it does. I’m pretty sure it would fit into any theme, it’s just that good.
Tim Clark lives in Columbus, OH. He is an employee, a husband, a father and a blogger. You can see his blog here, Life Explained. He loves classic rock, and talks about it too often. He loves to write and read, and he doesn’t mind coffee and a little bourbon, either.
I have to vote for the Del Lords. A band without peer.
The Del Lords are fun, Judy Collins sings a pretty tune but of these songs I probably like Randy Travis the best.
Randy Travis most definitely.
Both Sides Now is my vote!
Jefferson Airplane
I’m voting for Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell.
I’m with Nancy – Joni Mitchell all the way.
I think I’m goin’ with a Better Class of Losers…I can always get behind $3 wine!
I have to go with Both Sides Now.
Randy Travis. Mainly because I’m more familiar with him than some of the others. I’m not Anonymoys. I’m cousin Mike. 🙂
Jefferson Airplane
Jefferson
It was a toss-up between How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live by The Del Lords and Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell. I decided on How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live. I suppose when you pick a favorite song for me it depends on my state of mind. I love the upbeat of the song and especially the guitars which I have a weakness for. My vote is for How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live.
