Winter Haikai
daggers attached
to the roof melt on the snow
icicle river
handlebar black and
white mustache icicles
kiss daddy’s ice lips
four hockey gloves
jab white sweaters bloody
penalty box beer
four ski poles in snow
snow plow down baby moguls
two skiers lay in bed
thirty-six degrees Fahrenheit
sun thaws lake ice to four inches
snowmobile under ice
one thousand ankles
cross the Red Sea on ice
Cecil DeMille movie
the sun melts your truth
six-feet under the snow
your moon makes new snow
Spot’s snout in white snow
scents fall secrets in brown grass
jowl pukes yellow snow
full urn on the shelf
gather at weeping willow
ashes bring new year
