we’re just a never-ending ancestry tree
of focusing on trying to correct
our parents’ mistakes

that we didn’t notice the forest of
other faults.

Alyssa Harmon is currently a senior at USFSP and is majoring in English Writing Studies and minoring in Mass Communication. Alyssa has a passion for reading and writing, and she’s been doing that since she learned how to. Once she graduates, she wants to hopefully publish a book of some of her poetry and work as an editor at a publishing company. Her poems have been published in several print and online publications, including Merrimack Review, Minerva Rising, Papercut Literary Journal, and Odet Journal.
