L.S. BASSEN and MIKE STANKO
L. Shapley Bassen was the 2016 Winner of the [TX] Austin Chronicle’s short story contest. In 2014, both her novel Summer of the Long Knives (Typhoon Media) and her story collection Lives of Crime and Other Stories (Texture Press) were published. A second collection Showfolk and 7 Stories will be out later this year with Inkception Books. She is a fiction editor at PrickoftheSpindle.com and was a finalist in the 2011 Flannery O’Connor Awards, an Original reader for electricliterature.com, and won the 2009 APP Drama Prize & a Mary Roberts Rinehart Fellowship. Mike Stanko is a lifelong Long Islander (NY) who began painting and showing his work over 20 years ago. His paintings have been exhibited throughout the tri-state area, including shows at the Elaine Benson Gallery in Bridgehampton and the Empire State Building in NYC. He has been interviewed numerous times on TV and has donated his artwork to many causes over the years such as Breast Cancer walks, Art for ALS, and The Waterkeeper Alliance.
